TARTE BLUSH BAZAAR AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH PALETTE

TARTE BLUSH BAZAAR AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH PALETTE

Sometimes people do the unexpected, in my case; I bought a LOT of blush, the Tarte Blush Bazaar Amazonian Clay Blush Palette. I know ! I mean who would’ve thought I would buy a blush palette of all things ? I certainly did not, yet here we are. This one looked too damn tempting for me to pass up.

Every year for Holidays (we are talking holiday releases in September/October, I mean!), a lot of brands release their holiday collections. And a lot of people wait for the Tarte Holiday collection. Tarte always has a beautiful collection, gorgeous eyeshadows and lipsticks, some beautiful palettes and they also do a blush book every year. This year they did a blush book and a blush bazaar palette ! How very exciting !

The Tarte Blush Bazaar Amazonian Clay Blush palette is limited edition. Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes have for years, been touted as some of the best blushes on the market. I didn’t try them until this year, when I received a mini as a Sephora birthday gift. Yes, I know ! I’m beyond ridiculous being a beauty blogger and all that !

But, I did love that mini a lot and so when this year Tarte released the Blush Bazaar, I knew I wanted it. I actually bought this a while back and can give you my complete, full and final thoughts. From Sephora:

What it is:
A delicious, double-sided palette with ten deluxe blush and highlight shades to make every skin tone glow. What it does:
This palette delivers eight blushes and two highlighters in a gorgeous mix of warm and cool tones. The shades range from subtle to bold with matte and micro-shimmer finishes, all powered by tarte’s iconic Amazonian clay for amazing payoff and long wear. The bright, intricate packaging is inspired by Moroccan design, blending the best of color and texture in one space-saving palette. This palette contains:
– 8 x 0.084 oz/ 2.4 g Blush in Angelic (peachy pink), Fortunate (pink melon), Skillful (pink berry), Exhilarating (fuchsia), Authentic (plummy rose), Endless (pink raspberry), Dainty (melon), and Extraordinary (shimmering coral).
– 2 x 0.084 oz/ 2.4 g Highlighter in Worthy (soft pink) and Whimsical (shimmery gold). What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
This palette is vegan, oil free, and formulated with tarte 12-hour power™. It is also dermatologist tested.

The palette fits just about in my hand, unopened. Tarte Blush Bazaar palette retails for 44$, states that it has 150$ worth of value. But let’s see for ourselves, a full-sized Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush retails for $29.00 and contains 0.20 oz. or costs $145.00/oz. The palette actually contains $121.80 worth of blush. It is still quite a value filled palette.

The blushes are not powdery, or don’t have much fallout. They in-fact feel very stiff to the touch. The two highlighters, on the other hand, are quite creamy and glossy. I LOVE the blushes. Because they are a little bit stiff, they don’t kick up a ton of excess powder, or are not too pigmented on your face. They give a beautiful and fresh looking flush to the skin, and it can definitely be built up if you prefer.

I know these days everyone says the more pigmented the better, I don’t necessarily subscribe to that outlook. I find that face products, especially base products like contour, bronzer and blushes, work much better when they are sheer yet buildable. Just because you have more control on how to sculpt and shape your face, instead of using too pigmented products and having to work real hard to make them look presentable.

The palette has 7 matte blushes, and 1 shimmer blush. This is surprising if you know me, because I love shimmery blushes. But recently I have learnt the importance of a good matte blush. The Hourglass blushes along with these Tarte matte blushes, are gorgeous on the skin. Matte does not mean too flat. Sometimes, when I feel I don’t want too much highlight (I know, who am I?) I just apply a matte blush, and that’s it. I love the effect a good bronzer (Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, is my current go to) and a great matte blush has on the skin with almost no highlighter. Looks quite fresh !

The colors swatched on my arm, might look a little similar, but on the cheeks, they definitely are different. As you can see they swatch sheer, almost translucent. On the cheeks, perfection ! Even if you are not a blush buff (I wasn’t for a long time),I suggest you go in store, and check this out. That Tarte formula is everything ! And the way blush changes up your face ? I never quite got what Lisa Eldridge said about blush and lip color perking up your face, but now I certainly do.

The highlighters in the palette are beautiful. They are quite wet looking and glossy on the skin, and look beautiful paired with the blushes. You need quite little, and these are not as stiff as the blushes. They do have some kick up.

Verdict ? I adore this little palette. Its perfect for travel and everyday makeup as well. They are gorgeous ! They perform excellently. Have you picked this up ? Are you eyeing it ? Let me know !
