Let’s do this folks: my Sephora VIB Sale recommendations ! The Sephora sale starts tomorrow for VIB Rouge and lasts over this weekend, and again next weekend the sale is for everyone. This post is me raving about products that I think you should consider when paring down your Sephora list. I have to say that most of these are truly my go to and also a higher price point that even normal Sephora products. So buckle up !

It is quite intimidating to whittle down your wishlist, especially at this time of the year. The holidays are almost here, and with that there a ton of new beauty releases every day. Some brands put out limited edition products. Beauty addicts generally would have atleast one meltdown. I know I did last year. But I realise that being prepared and taking a good look at what you use as a daily go to – I mean what textures you prefer, what colors you use more often etc is a good place to start, which helps you to naturally eliminate those beauty craving which look tempting but may not necessarily be the best fit, a month later.

Base Products: I normally don’t use a primer on my face, I find that having combination dry skin, I need to have a great moisturizer on. So I used to love the Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer, which was a great hydrating primer. I still love it, but now I just use my daily moisturizer instead.

On top of the moisturizer, I know that this typically isn’t considered a “base product” but from when it released, I have used this product every. single. time I applied foundation. It is the Marc Jacobs Dew You ? Dew Drops highlighter. Ugh, this is pure love for me, it is a beautiful gold champagne ! As someone with dry skin, which can look lifeless at times, I depend a lot on highlighters to make me look more fresh and glowy ! And I use the Dew You drops all over my face, after moisturizing. I take about a pump, sometimes a bit more if I am going out for the night, and smooth it over my face. Trust me, it is not too much after you have your foundation on, but the glow just comes through your foundation, making you look SO dewy !

For foundations, I have tried a few this past year and while I have liked almost all of them, I will share my top two picks, which are on the opposite ends of the foundation spectrum. My first love this year is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I wear this in shade 6. This is a cult product for a reason and I am SO late to the game. It is unbelievably gorgeous on the skin, it almost looks like nothing is on your skin but evens it out beautifully. It is a medium coverage but can be built up to a full and even then would not look caked on. I wore this even at very humid temperatures in India, while I was there for weddings, and it held up beautifully. I did set it with powder (Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Finish powder, worth every penny!) while I was in India because it was quite hot. The only con to this product is that it has no spa, so you have to have a spa product on before this.

My second pick for foundation is the Dior Diorskin Forever SPF 35 foundation. I wear this in shade 031. This is a pore refining foundation. This has a very natural finish, not too glowy or too matte. It is full coverage but looks skin like. I LOVE this ! It is perfect for days when I want to look polished but don’t want to look too glowy. It literally makes my skin look like there are no pores, like face tune ! I don’t find that it has flash back either. Gorgeous finish !

For concealers, my ride or die is the Tarte Shape Tape Double Duty Concealer, which is sadly not available at Sephora. I do like the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer, but not as much as the Tarte Shape Tape. The Nars concealer (I wear shade Ginger) is not as easy to blend as Shape Tape, neither is the coverage as good. It is a tad bit more cakey on me that Tarte Shape Tape. But on days where I have errands and don’t have the time to put on a full face, I use the Nars to quickly conceal a few spots on my face. I do NOT use this for my under eyes. Since I have dry skin, the Nars emphasizes the dry skin quite a bit. But if you have normal/oily skin, maybe the Nars would work for you.

Face Products: Let’s start with my favorite, highlighters ! I have called deeply in love with the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby. It is my go to highlighter, I use the muted side for above my eyebrows, browbone and Cupid’s bow. And the more intense side for top of my cheek bones. It is the most unique gold peach champagne ! Highly recommend if you like intense highlighter.

If you prefer a slightly more muted, yet glossy skin highlighter, look no further than the Dior Nude Air Luminizers. I have these in 001 (champagne) and 003 (gold). Love both of them for a stunning glossy skin look. These are almost wet to the touch, yet glide onto skin beautifully. They don’t emphasize any skin texture what so ever.

For Bronzer/Contour, I have been a huge fan of the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. I am so sure everyone has this. I also love using the Fenty Beauty Match Stix in Mocha, I don’t swipe this directly onto my face. Instead I swipe this onto my brush first, and then swipe the brush on my cheeks for a more uniform application. These Fenty Beauty Match Stix stay on all day ! Love that about them. If you are looking at a more luxury bronzer, might I steer you towards Tom Ford Gold Dust. This, this is a stunner. It has tiny flecks of gold, which translate as dimension to you face. It is warmer than the above two mentioned, but not too warm or muddy on the skin. This is my go to for most days when I need a no fuss bronzer, and can apply this without being frightened that I might have a too bronzed, orange face.

For blush, at the absolute top is my blush in Tom Ford Love Lust. I adore how luminous yet beautiful this is. Bang for your buck this year is the Tarte Blush Bazaar palette, which has a variety of shades to pick from, mostly matte.

Quick mentions for a few palettes, the Nars Bord de Plage palette, which has highlighters and bronzers. Gorgeous. Also the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Palette, which also has a mix of blush/bronzer and highlighters. Both of these are quite beautiful.

A brand, as whole which has never disappointed me in the face products department is Hourglass Cosmetics. Whether blushes, bronzers or subtle highlighters, they consistently deliver ! Some of the finest !

Eyes & Lips: I have a ton of these category of products ! But my main recommendations are the Pat McGrath eyeshadow palettes, these are a work of art. They contain a mix of finishes, all of which can be applied wet. You have to see them to believe them. Applied atop a cream base, they are THE best eyeshadows I have so far, period. Even my Natasha Denona eyeshadows are not as dimensional and fierce. I am yet to review and swatch the Pat McGrath eyeshadow palettes fully, which I will be doing soon.

On the other hand, if you do prefer intense metallics and creamy mattes, which are not too over the top, then Natasha Denona has a few palettes which might be up your alley. Both these brands are uber luxurious, but they do have their differences in terms of textures and finishes.

If you like more one and done eyeshadow, with some pizzaz, then I adore the Tom Ford Cream Eyeshadow duos. They come in a lot of shades, and have some unique glitter top coats for the cream bases. These stay on all day with no creasing or fading on my oily eyelids.

Mascara and eyeliners are much more personal choices, but my favorites are the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara and the Gel Eyeliners. Outstanding quality. I also love the Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow palette (Glambition and Scandalust remain my go-to), for a high end but not quite the super luxury spectrum of beauty.

For the lips, I highly suggest among luxury brands, the Louboutin Lipsticks, they are just the perfect lipsticks I own. These are the best lipsticks I have EVER tried. I also am a huge fan of Bite Beauty lipsticks, every formula of theirs is beautiful. Quite hydrating and food grade.

Among liquid lipsticks, the YSL Rouge Tatouage lipsticks and the Armani Lip Magnets remain my favorite. Quite comfortable yet very long lasting on the lips.

The Bling Factor

If you have come this far, congratulations and thank you ! I have blog posts on a lot of these, which I am unable to list in this post. But a quick search will show the relevant posts. My current wishlist for myself this year, is another Pat McGrath Eyeshadow palette, a couple of Tom Ford Lipsticks (some of my favorites, though not as much as Louboutin) and the Tom Ford Waterproof foundation. I think those are all I will be picking up. What are you eyeing ?
