If there’s one genre of books or TV shows that can reel in me real quick, it’s the fantasy one. I’ve heard about Vampire Diaries a lot, but I was like, “how different can it be from Twilight or True Blood”. Turns out, it seems to be a mix of both and I’m hooked. I am up till 3 A.M, chanting,”just one more episode”. I’m sure you’ve all been there !
That and because I wanted to vary my posting times, here we are, having a post up a little after mid afternoon. I’m really unsure what time to post, any pointers would be appreciated. So, I’ve been up late nights, and you know, with late nights comes late night shopping. Yes,another Sephora haul. I’ve had these for about a week now, and I can give you my thoughts about them so far.
The first thing I picked up were the Anastasia Beverly Hills new releases of the liquid lipsticks (0.11oz,20$). I really liked the colors in this release, I purchased Dolce and Kathryn. Dolce, described as a muted coral, is a beautiful corally peach. Kathryn, described as a brown berry, is a warm toned berry pink, with brown undertones, this does not come across as too brown. These both dried down a just a shade darker than what they look like in the tube.
I’ve been wearing these this past week, and while I love the colors, the lipstick does feel drying on my lips. On days where I don’t have any balm on, these accentuate my lip lines and my lips look like a crackly mess. But, they look better when I put a balm underneath. In contrast, I’ve worn the Girlactik/Jouer/Jeffree Star lipsticks on lips with no balm, and my lips still looked good. I do love that these stay on my lips really, really long. And they don’t fade in an uneven way, in fact these look really good even after a greasy meal. I’ve had these on for 12+ hours and they still didn’t need a re-touch up. If you are okay with putting a balm underneath these, and having your lips feel a little dry at the end of the day, you might like these.
These days I’ve also been loving cream highlighters and when I saw Cover FX came out with their version called the Enhance Click, I jumped on it real quick. I picked up the shade Bubbly (0.17oz, 18$). This is described as a nude champagne, and it’s SO pretty ! This is very tiny, and it might not seem very expensive, but to have an idea the new Marc Jacobs Glow Stick is 42$ for 0.49oz. First of all, this is pretty tiny. But when is any of us going to finish makeup ? The product itself is beautiful. This is not an intense highlight. It just melts into the skin giving a very dewy appearance. There is no tugging on the skin, it literally slides and melts on the skin. I would use this underneath a powder highlighter, just for that extra oomph and staying power. Love this !
The last but most exciting purchase I made was the Too Faced Luminous Bronzer in Snow Bunny(0.28oz, 30$). I have been really into glowy, bronzy skin lately, (like you couldn’t tell!). But I also didn’t want something that looks like I’ve been using orange all over my face and look really unrealistic. This bronzer is perfect. I use this around the edges of my face and on top of my cheek bones. It gives gorgeous sheen, not glitter, on your face, and warms it up, with no obvious color. I’m around the NC35 skintone, and it makes me look very glowy and just gives my skin a summer glam bronze look. Big love here ! I might hit pan on this !
I also could grab these Perricone MD Cold Plasma in addition as a Sephora extra promo, and this was such a deal really. Each of these is 15ml. And 30ml (1oz) of this is priced at 162$ ! Say what ! So, I’m really glad I could grab two. I’ve also ordered a few Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows, and I’m really liking them so far, review soon ! Is there anything else I need ? 😉
