As everyone and their granny knows (my grannies don’t though, they’re very busy imagining playing with my yet-to-be-born kids) – the last couple of years have only seen the hype and popularity of liquid lipsticks skyrocket so much that recently the queen of matte plush lip colors, Kylie Jenner, herself launched her own line and released liquid lipsticks !
I have to admit, I was very late to the party, but I caught on last year. Very skeptically though. I thought, “No way I’ll like a liquid lipstick that dries down completely matte more than a normal lipstick tube”. And initially, I really didn’t get the hype. But, slowly and surely, I started liking it. And hoarding liquid lipsticks.
Jouer liquid lipsticks have out done every other liquid lipstick I own. (And I’ll show you my whole liquid lipstick collection, every brand and their low down, soon, don’t you worry, I got you !)
These are so freakin’ amazing. They are like buttah’ on the lips. My lips stay comfortable, and the liquid lipsticks are really long lasting. And the icing on the cake is that my lips look like I’ve had fillers, very plump and pretty.
Jouer has launched 16 shades and I have 7 of them to show you here today. I’m quite picky about liquid lipsticks as I have dry lips and don’t like my lips feeling like sandpaper. But, owning 7 liquid lipsticks from a single brand is a big deal, normally at most I have 2 maybe 3 shades from a brand. But, these are so good that I don’t feel the need to slather on seven layers of lip balm after taking these off at the end of the day. These colors as well, honestly, are some of the best. They are bright, but not a overly bright color, nor are they the colors we see from every brand. I didn’t pick up any reds simply because I don’t wear it often.Another thing to keep in mind is that these dry down darker than what they look like in the tube. They dry in about a minute. And they stay on through meals. I’ve had bread, soup and oily food with these on, and only a little lipstick faded in the middle. The good thing is, you can reapply a second layer on top, without your lips looking like a crackly mess !
Now,these are categorized as warm or cool on their web site, but honestly, I think if we like it, we can always carry it off. I mix up my lipstick undertones all the time, and wearing a lipstick which has the opposite undertone of your skin, makes it pop on you. Just like wearing a blue/green eyeliner when you have brown eyes.
Have you tried these ? Which ones are your favorites ? What are your thoughts ?
