I know that recently I’ve been erratic with my posts, but if you follow me on Instagram (@the.bling.factor) you would know that I have my husband’s family over for over a month and a half now, and it’s been pretty hectic. Anywho, onto my newest highlighter obsession.
Cover FX recently came out with their version of liquid highlighters called the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops and also two liquid bronzers for summer. When I looked at the swatches on their Instagram page, I was blown away. But, I was still a little hesitant to order sight unseen and my nearest Sephora hadn’t received them yet.
But then, I saw MUA/queen Lisa Eldridge use one in one of her recent videos and I just couldn’t resist. Something that has her approval just sealed the deal for me. I got it in the shade that was demonstrated in her video titled “Get the Glow – The Eldridge Way” – Moonlight. You can see her tutorial here, she is one the best MUAs ever, and probably one of the first people I started watching on YouTube.
Let me just say that this is hands down the best liquid highlighter I have EVER tried. It blows Becca and my favorite, Rouge Bunny Rouge, outta the water. These retail for 42$ for 0.5 oz. That shocked me really, as that’s expensive. But then, I forgot that Cover FX makes the most pigmented and intense products.
So, what Cover FX says, from the Sephora website:
What it is:
A drop formula to bring a highlighting, strobing, or bronzing effect to your favorite beauty products or to use alone for a glowing look.
What it does:
Custom Enhancer Drops makes bringing adding a highlighting, strobing, or bronzing effect to any liquid cosmetic or skincare product easy. Add them to your favorite foundation, primer, serum, and moisturizer. Available in six universal shades, including four illuminators and two bronzers, these drops can also be used alone, even on top of powder, to create a buildable highlight or sunkissed tint. Custom Enhancer Drops were formulated with a high concentration of pearls that produce a lit-from-within glow without appearing too glittery or overdone. The more drops you use, the more luminosity you’ll get. The result is a beautiful, camera-ready, radiant finish.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
What else you need to know:
This product is free of mineral oil, gluten, talc, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthlate), and camphor.
Moonlight is a light champagne gold color, and it is STUNNING. I have tried it mixed in, and on it’s own and it is gorgeous. The one thing that sets this apart from every other liquid highlighter I have tried though ? This dries down completely, and I mean completely. You can see the beautiful glow on your skin, but when you touch your skin, it feels matte, but a nourished matte feeling. And stays on ALL DAY ! I had this on for 15+ hours when I was in Chicago last weekend, and at the end of the day, while the rest of my makeup looked a bit worn, this just was going on so strong.
I also got another Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in shade Liar. I already reviewed a few here. Liar is a warm pinky nude and a gorgeous one for summer.
If you need some serious glow this summer, you need the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops ! You can find this on Sephora here. And the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks here. In the meanwhile, if you need to find me, I’ll be in the corner dousing myself in this ! XO
