There have been a ton of new launches lately and it is so hard to keep track of what’s good, what we need and what we want. I am guilty of buying almost everything new these days. I had control, okay ? At one time. But now a days, I buy and if I don’t like it, there’s always the option of returning and that is what I love about shopping ! I’m digressing, so lets take a look at what’s rocking my boat lately with eyeshadow releases.
If you follow me on Instagram (@the.bling.factor , I’m fun I promise) you would’ve seen that I have splurged a lot lately. I keep telling myself that it’s the holiday season and that’s why. But, let’s be real, we’re all makeup addicts. But with all that I’ve tried there are only a few that really impress me. And today, I have two palettes, one luxury and one affordable, and both of them are really stunning.
The first palette that has blown my mind is the Smashbox Cover Shot palette in Ablaze (29$). I am relatively new to this brand as I’ve only tried their liquid lipsticks (which are amazing btw) so far. The Smashbox Cover Shot range has 7 palettes, all small and travel friendly. The packaging is extremely cute. The palettes range from bold to an only matte palette to a metallic palette etc. There is something for everyone.
Ablaze eyeshadow palette is a warm color palette lovers dream, and contains a mix of matte and metallic warm shades. It has all the on trend colors in it, a rosy peach, a gold, cranberry, orange, champagne and more ! I love how the colors coordinate beautifully, and they don’t crease on me. They also last through the day with no fading.
The other palette that has also captured my interest and love is the Le Metier de Beaute palette in Day Eternal (75$). I believe this is part of the Smoke & Mirrors collection, where they have released 3 palettes Smoke & Mirrors, Night Magnifique and Day Eternal. All three are really stunning, but I went with Day Eternal and now I want the other two.
Day Eternal also has a mix of mattes and metallics. The reason I adore Le Metier de Beaute is because of how complex and stunning the end result is with very simple shades. To look at the palette doesn’t look exciting enough, but on the eyes and hopefully, in the swatches you can see how STUNNING these shades are and how complementary.
The metallics especially I cannot rave enough about, as someone with medium skin tone, leaning olive, there have been numerous occasions where rosy shades and pewters just don’t translate flattering enough on my eyes. But these shades are magnificent. They play with light so beautifully. To my knowledge, these palettes are limited edition and I would grab one fast !
