That’s such a bad pun ! And I do come up with some lame puns and titles, as you all know ! But I just had to do it. And for good reason, since this product that I don’t know why it took me so long to try, has literally become one of my favorite products ever, and it is none other than the very famous Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.

Long time readers will know the struggle with my very oily lids, and how I have tried almost every trick and primer. And nothing ever works for me, the eyeshadow stays on for a few hours, about 5-7 hours at most, and start fading really fast and smudges. And I thought I could live with that. Until I met the Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base, that’s a really long name that we will henceforth refer to as Nars Pro Prime !

From Sephora,

What it is:
A lightweight primer that creates a seamless canvas that keeps cream and powder eye color looking brilliant, fresh, and just-applied all day.

What it does:
This smudge-proof eyeshadow base uses a unique polymer and mineral powder blend to get a firm grip on color for long-lasting, gorgeous wear. Fortified with a special deep-sea extract and an antioxidant rice extract, it dries on contact and keeps the delicate eye lid smooth and ready for eyeshadow application.

What else you need to know:
This fragrance-free product is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested.

Research Results:
After 2 week test:
– 97% felt that it maximized your eyeshadow color
– 93% felt that it extended the wear of your eyeshadow
– 90% felt that it prevented creasing and smudging

Now, this is a colorless primer that’s quite tacky to the touch. And I thought that would make the eyeshadow being applied on top patchy or uneven, but nah uh ! Whether it’s a powder eyeshadow (even the notoriously powdery Natasha Denona glitter eyeshadows) or cream eyeshadow, once it is applied, it is literally like an eyeshadow adhesive, it didn’t budge until I removed them. What most impressed me was how vibrant my eyeshadow looked, it looked really true to color through out the whole time I had eyeshadow on, with absolutely no fading whatsoever. The only negative about this product is the price, at 26$ for 0.26 oz, it is an expensive eyeshadow primer. But, I find also really worth it.

I have no idea why it took me so long to jump onto this bandwagon but baby, I am in ! Have you tried any the Nars Pro Prime, what are your thoughts ?
